The purpose of the Peace Academy program is to serve refugee youth by spreading awareness of genocide and promoting peace and conflict resolution training.
The Peace Center for Forgiveness and Reconciliation aims to change the world by educating young people on the causes and consequences of genocide and other atrocities. The Center reaches out to youth through public speaking, lectures, workshops, peace walks, and social media. Young people are encouraged to become peace ambassadors at their schools and within their communities. Youth are also encouraged to create and lead genocide and atrocity awareness projects to educate their peers on this important subject.
Conflict resolution is the process of resolving a dispute or a conflict by meeting at least some of each side’s needs and addressing their interests. The Peace Center for Forgiveness and Reconciliation conducts conflict resolution training in schools, juvenile detention centers, and community centers around the state of Indiana.
